Timeline in Unity

Timeline is a package that you can install in Unity. It allows you to create cinematic cutscenes, gameplay sequences, and more.

Each use of timeline will have a timeline asset and timeline instance which will be created and modified using the timeline window.

To use timeline open the timeline window and select the game object you want the timeline playable director to be attached to. Click create in the timeline window and you will make a new timeline.

From here you can select add and choose which type of action you want.

To record cutscenes and other actions it works very similar to the animation window for sprite animations.

Set a starting position and hit the record button. Drag the white bar to set a length and create the action you want to happen (like moving a game object to a new location). Now hit the record button again to stop recording. You will be able to view your timeline by hitting play.
